Report on the International launch of the ACT-cube®
To download our ACT Brochure and Corporate Overview, please click here.Human Insight held the international launch of the ACT-cube® at the Imagination Gallery, London, on the 7th May.
Professor Peter Robertson described the almost 8 years of work that has gone in to creating a completely new process for creating sustainable organisational performance. Martin Ewart described the use of the cube at Elision. Jayne Gould of Gemserv contributed her practical insights to the panel Q&A which helped define what makes the ACT-cube® different from comparable processes. It:
measures different things in organisations
The ACT-cube® measures the foundations of human behaviour - evolutionary drives which can't be changed but which can be 'marshalled' - allowing leaders to become genuine strategists.
is driven by hard science
Research carried out long before the ACT-cube® was created validate the drives it measures.
is directly linked to business performance/cycles
It's very difficult and time consuming to link psychometric test results on an indivdual to real business problems; it requires an act of 'bottom up' translation. In contrast, the ACT-cube® results map directly onto and draw from a detailed analysis of the business cycle. There's no: 'So what?'
measures the organisation as a system
Psychometrics is about (indeed that's its definition) identifying individual differences. The ACT-cube® measures the organisation as a system.
produces results quickly
As soon as the last questionnaire is completed a picture of your organisation's readiness for change and strategic diversity - and the consequent impact on strategy execution - is clear.
We are offeringa range of intoductory options for leaders who would like to sample the power of the ACT-cube® in practice.

Events held during 2007
Roundtable discussion
On the 30th March we hosted a roundtable discussion in conjunction with the Training Journal. This was a very successful event and we attach a pdf of the article that is in the May edition of the Training Journal (see below).
Also read Annika Ratcliffe's article "As nature intended: the ecology of complex change" (see below)
What was the purpose of the Roundtable?
Participants were able to share their current experience of complex change and the demands this places on leadership at all levels. The discussion highlighted new ideas and methods and drew some conclusions as to best practice.
The following are the key questions which were addressed :
- How do you keep an organisation performing successfully through complex change?
- How do some companies re-invent themselves to outperform their competitors?
- What is it about their values and leadership style that sets them apart?
- Why organisations experiencing great success are most vulnerable to failure?
- What is the extent to which people in organisations are prepared to change and what are the consequences for their leadership?
Savoy breakfast event
On the 26th April we held our second event, our Savoy Breakfast event. This proved to be a highly successful and extremely interesting event where Murli Nathan of BP and Deborah Fleming of Chameleon Works presented the story of how a multicultural and diverse team gained support from the AEM-cube®. This included:
Leading through complex change - using the AEM-cube® to measure diversity through change. An insight into one leaders perspective on how to overcome the following challenges:
- Getting the most out of a diverse team and measuring it
- Coping with a fluctuating and unpredictable economy whilst leading a high calibre team through change
- Building trust and alignment in preparation for an S-curve jump
