On the 3rd of March, Human Insight organised an interesting workshop together with Purdue University's Agile Strategy Lab. During this energy packed session, Scott Hutcheson gave a group of Human Insight consultants a walkthrough of how to create an environment that executes ideas and has an agile approach to testing what works and what doesn't. 

Complex systems made easy by 10 rules

Organisations can be complex systems in the way that different stakeholders interact with each other. That is why Agile Strategy Lab created an easy to use structured approach how to solve big problems one step at a time. The good thing about this approach is that it's actionable! People working together are asked to think about 4 main questions:

  • What could we do? 
  • What should we do? 
  • What will we do?
  • What's our 30/30? (30-day action plan with priorities)

Team effectiveness and performance

One of the pivotal factors for success is to understand what the contribution is of your team members. In this case, what are the talents of individuals that make up a team? Together with Agile Strategy Lab, Human Insight found that there is a good fit for the AEM-Cube assessment. The AEM-Cube looks to help teams that use 30-day sprints to talk about team roles, who does what, in order to be able to understand where each team member performs best.
